Cutting the SVG on a Cricut

The SVG has up to three stacked shapes: Lettering (the letters, welded into one shape), Outline (the puffy backing around them) and Shadow (the outline moved down and right). Each has its own color, so Design Space can treat them as separate layers — for example three colors of vinyl or cardstock.

1. In Design Space, open Upload in the left panel and choose Upload Image.
2. Browse to the downloaded .svg (or drag it into the window), continue, give it a name and upload it. It is then placed on the Canvas.
3. The file arrives as a group. Ungroup it if you want to move or resize one layer on its own; keep it grouped to resize everything together.
4. Check the size on the Canvas against the “Finished size” shown under the preview and adjust it if needed before you cut.

The file contains only filled paths: no live text, no clipping paths and no embedded images — the things Cricut lists as unsupported in uploads.

Calculated, not machine-tested The paths are calculated from the font outlines; we haven't cut them on a physical machine. The outline layer is traced from a high-resolution render of your text and smoothed into curves, so it is accurate to roughly 1/2000 of the design's width. Do a small test cut first, especially with thin outlines or small sizes.

If the note under the preview says the outline is several pieces, the letters' backings don't touch. Raise “Outline thickness” or lower “Letter spacing” until it reads as one piece if you want a single sticker-style backing.

Printing bubble letters for a poster, banner or coloring page

• Printable PDF (one letter per page) draws each character as large as it fits on US Letter or A4 with a half-inch margin — handy for bulletin boards and party banners. Spaces are skipped.
• Printable PDF (whole phrase) fits the whole design on one page and turns the page sideways for long words.
• “Outline only” prints just the contours in black, which saves ink and works as a coloring page or a stencil to trace. “Filled” prints your colors.
• Print at 100% / “Actual size” so your printer doesn't shrink the page.

The fonts and what you can do with them

Every font in this tool comes from the Google Fonts collection and is free for commercial use under the SIL Open Font License (OFL) or the Apache License 2.0. In short, you can sell stickers, shirts, decals or printables you make with them. What you can't do is sell the font file itself on its own. The license text is linked below — it ships with each font on this site.
