Can you use Canva fonts commercially?
Yes, inside your own designs. You can sell what you make and export from Canva with its fonts, as long as the design is your original work. The fonts themselves never leave Canva.

When you need a font of your own
Canva’s fonts are enough for designs you finish and export in Canva. You need a separately licensed font when:
- The work happens outside Canva. Cutting-machine software, Word, Photoshop or a laser program needs an installed font file, and Canva fonts can’t be installed.
- Your POD platform wants you to own the copyright. Canva content can’t go there, so a design built with a font you license yourself avoids the conflict.
- A website, app or online customizer needs the font. That takes a webfont, app or server license, which Canva fonts don’t offer.
- A printer or client needs the font file. Canva fonts can’t be handed over.
Free option: fonts under the OFL, like most of Google Fonts, can be used commercially, even in products you sell. Our bubble letter generator uses only OFL and Apache-licensed fonts.

Want to use that font inside Canva too? Uploading fonts needs a paid Canva plan, and the font’s license has to allow embedding. Not every paid license does: MyFonts says none of the licenses it sells online permit Canva use. Before uploading, read the license, and open the file in the font license checker to see the license info stored inside it.

Paid option for work outside Canva: a font library that includes a commercial license. Creative Fabrica’s fonts come with a license for products you sell, on up to three of your own devices. Don’t plan on uploading them to Canva, though. Creative Fabrica’s license lists installing or embedding files on third-party platforms as not allowed, and we found no Canva-specific answer from Creative Fabrica.
